A downloadable project

Here I will be displaying artwork from my final major project for my games design course. This artwork shows the creation of the dominant species of our planet if humans were to go extinct in the near future. This new species is at our current state of evolution and match us in terms of intelligence. The artwork on this page will show the creatures designs, their initial designs and their final designs, a few characters you can find in the world and concept art to give people an idea how this game will look and feel. 

The player character will be very plain until the player customises their character throughout the game.

Sadie is a social racoon. She loves to tinker with any piece of tech she can find to try and figure out its purpose. Sadie regularly ventures into the crumbling cities despite the dangers. She does this in order to find scrap metal and other items she can use in her machines. She isn’t fond of clothing as she feels they restrict her too much. She is quite partial to bow ties though. She has a fairly large collection as they are compact and make her feel pretty.

Pip is social but also very socially awkward. He gets overly excited very easily, because of this and his build people tend to assume he is much younger than he is. Despite his appearance and personality he is extremely intelligent. He has the largest collection of human books of any one racoon. His personal favourites are a fairy tale book, which he assumes is real human history, and a book of dinosaurs, which he assumes were humans’ pets because of how big the buildings in the city are. 


Pip is not social but he isn’t anti-social. He won’t go out of his way to talk to people but won’t ignore someone if they came to him. He is kind but also distant. Once someone gets close to pip he does open up, quite a bit. He will go out of his way to see them and changes his overall demeanour. He starts to smile more, talk more and become more animated when he is comfortable around someone. While it takes a while to get close to Pip most people would argue that it is worth the wait and effort. 


Sadie is a mechanic, Arlo is a historian and Pip is a repair man. These characters aren’t important to the game. Depending on who the player decided to interact with throughout the game will decide who is and isn’t important to your story. I chose to make these three character sheets as it shows off how the different stats effect body type and what sort of items the player may come across and put in their wardrobe or inventory.
